Bruno Guimaraes, Newcastle United’s midfielder, has had a busy week.
Bruno Guimaraes, Newcastle United’s midfielder, resorted to social media following Monday night’s 3-2 defeat against Chelsea.
The Brazilian started the game and set up Alexander Isak’s equalizer after Nicolas Jackson scored in the first half. Cole Palmer restored Chelsea’s advantage in the second half, and substitute Mykhailo Mudryk made it 3-1.
Jacob Murphy scored a late consolation as the Magpies lost another game at Stamford Bridge.
Guimaraes has had a busy few days, as he and his girlfriend welcomed their second baby, Pietro, on the eve of the game.
Guimaraes shared a photo of himself in action versus Chelsea with the message (translated from Portuguese): “A very different week with many things happening at the same time!”
“I can only thank God for everything he has done in my life! Never drop your head. We strive for development every day.”
Newcastle will be seeking for a significant improvement when they go to Manchester City for the FA Cup quarter-finals on Saturday (5:30pm kick-off). The Magpies have only won once at the Etihad Stadium and will face a City side looking for their second consecutive FA Cup victory.
And it might be a season-defining spell for Newcastle, who currently sit 10th in the Premier League table with 10 games remaining.
