The Atlanta Falcons discovered their franchise quarterback.
Kirk Cousins has agreed to a four-year contract to join the NFC South team. According to Ian Rapoport, the Pro Bowl quarterback will receive a four-year contract worth $180 million ($45 million per average year).
Cousins will join an offense that includes first-round picks such as running back Bijan Robinson, wide receiver Drake London, and tight end Kyle Pitts.

The 35-year-old quarterback is coming off a 2023 season that ended abruptly due to an Achilles injury, but was on track to post career highs through eight games. Cousins is expected to lead a club that has yet to win a game since its last playoff berth in 2017.
Cousins has had only two losing seasons in his full-time starting career. Among current quarterbacks, the former Viking and Commander is sixth with 39,471 passing yards and fourth with 270 throwing touchdowns.
The arrangement solved the Falcons’ glaring quarterback need, thus ending the Tylor Heinicke and Desmond Riddler era in Atlanta and ushering in a new one with Cousins.
