It wasn’t an easy win for Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday, but he pulled it off with 44 points, 14 rebounds, and 7 assists. The only player on the court who was equal to Giannis was Victor Wembanyama, who was described as “unbelievable” by the two-time MVP.

“He’s incredible. Incredible talent. He has the ability to score whenever he wants. Plays in the proper manner. Plays in order to win. “It was fun to play against him,” Antetokounmpo said after the Bucks’ 125-121 victory.
Giannis has always been able to see talent, so it’s no surprise that he sees Victor Wembanyama as a superstar. Wemby, who stands 7-foot-4 barefoot and with an 8-foot wingspan, is virtually unguardable when he goes up for a shot, and his long arms are capable of hurting even the best scorers. Victor’s heroics were ultimately insufficient to win the game tonight, but it’s a fantastic indicator that Giannis (and so many others) are already convinced on his potential as a star.

Wembanyama Is A Hottie

Victor Wembanyama: 2023 NBA Draft Scouting Report

While Chet Homgreen has dominated much of the Rookie of the Year talk in Oklahoma City, Victor Wembanyama is likely even more deserving of the accolade. Regardless of the team’s performance this season, Wemby has been fantastic, averaging 18.9 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game on 44.4% shooting. With 91 blocks for the season, Wemby currently leads the category and is a strong contender for Defensive Player of the Year.

The most incredible thing is that this is only the beginning for Wembanyama. With only 29 games under his belt, he still has a lot to learn and a lot more room to grow and enhance his game. It will be intriguing to see how Wemby modifies his game and what level he can reach with more league experience in the coming years in San Antonio. For the time being, he’s still looking to prove himself against the best of the best, and that starts with dominating performances like the one he had against Giannis tonight.

Giannis is not leaving

Giannis Antetokounmpo Gets Way Too Personal in Answer About Bucks' Struggles vs. Pacers

There is no doubt that Victor is the league’s future, but Giannis is here today and isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. This week, he delivered his latest gem in what has been an MVP-worthy year thus far. He’s had one of his greatest streaks yet, averaging 30.8 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game on 60.6% shooting in 33 games.

While not as remarkable as some would have imagined, the Bucks are still having a wonderful season at 25-10, thanks mostly to Antetokounmpo’s brilliance, which has carried them every step of the way. While he may not be as tall, young, or as skilled as Victor Wembanyama, he is far more strong and similarly difficult to stop on the court.
