Alexander Isak played all 90 minutes of Newcastle United’s victory over Fulham on Saturday.
Alexander Isak’s Northumberland home was apparently targeted by burglars earlier this week, with the Newcastle United striker’s car stolen and abandoned just three miles away. Isak is the latest in a long line of Premier League players to fall victim to ‘away day gangs’, who strike when they believe players will be in action.
Joelinton, one of Isak’s Newcastle teammates, lives about a mile down the road and had his house burgled three months ago. According to The Sun, police are currently investigating the robbery to see if it is related to the Swede’s previous misfortune.
According to the same story, a group attacked Isak’s four-bedroom home two days before the Magpies’ trip to Fulham on Saturday. He played all 90 minutes as Newcastle won 1-0 at Craven Cottage thanks to Bruno Guimaraes’ late goal.
It is unclear whether Isak or his family were there at the time of the crime, and information about what, if anything, was taken have been kept under wraps, with the exception of an unspecified car abandoned three miles away in Dissington.
The intruders are believed to have gained access to the property through the rear patio doors. Local police were notified to the incident on the Darras Hall estate in Northumberland at 10 p.m. on Thursday.
According to a brief statement from Northumbria Police, “Enquiries remain ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact us.”
