The second-round choice in the 2024 NFL draft claimed that he plays golf to unwind from his day job before admitting that his strengths are primarily in football.
Keon Coleman is headed to Buffalo after the Bills took him as the first player off the board in the second round of last week’s NFL Draft in Detroit.
But before the athletic wide receiver dives into Sean McDermott’s playbook and on the field at Highmark Stadium in September, Coleman is expected to hit the golf course to improve on his swing and unwind a little.
The 20-year-old disclosed during a pre-draft discussion with Bills Offensive Coordinator Joe Brady and a few of his staff members that his hobbies outside of football included relaxing at home, bowling, and golfing.
Coleman, who is quickly becoming recognized for his cutting sense of humor, explained that, while he enjoys competing, his best skill is most likely collecting passes.
When Brady asked Coleman what he did outside of football, the wide receiver replied, “I chill at home, golf, and bowl a little bit.” When pressed on the golf aspect of his response, the Florida State graduate replied, “I ain’t no… I’m Tiger Wish-He-Could, not Tiger Woods.

Coleman, who previously attended Michigan State for two years before transferring to Florida State, has most certainly been playing golf for a long time and is familiar with the frustrations that come with it.
He went on: “It’s controlled pandemonium. You’re annoyed, but you can’t get angry and pull a muscle in your back attempting to strike the ball, so I have to remain calm and simply swing. “Just have some fun!”
Coleman is just one of many NFL stars that like playing golf outside of practice, including Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, and Aaron Rodgers.
Mahomes is so into the sport that he created a par-3 hole at his Kansas City home, while Rodgers carded an Ace in his first round back after suffering an ACL injury last year.
Meanwhile, Tony Romo, a former Dallas Cowboys quarterback and CBS pundit, occasionally competes on the PGA Tour Champions or in PGA Tour pro-am events, qualifying for his first USGA championship in 2022.
