While there have been rumors that the Toronto Blue Jays may be willing to trade Bo Bichette or Vladimir Guerrero Jr. in July, a new report suggests the organization is already in talks with teams regarding a mega-deal.

With a 21-26 record, the Blue Jays are dead bottom in the American League East standings entering today’s MLB games. They have lost four of their previous six games, and after back-to-back playoff appearances, Toronto’s chances of making it to the postseason for the third time in a row are not looking good.

Even if stars like Bo Bichette, Daulton Varsho, and George Springer can break out of their early season slumps and get back on track, the team has the misfortune of being in the same division as two of baseball’s finest teams, the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles.

That is why there have already been rumors that the Blue Jays may sell before the MLB trade deadline on July 30, and they surely have numerous players who would pique the curiosity of other teams in the league. The most noteworthy of these are rising players Bo Bichette and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. However, many have questioned if the organization would relocate the two building components, despite both being free agents  after 2025.

“I don’t think they’re opposed to it,” an executive told MLB.com league insider Mark Feinsand on Tuesday. “They’ve spoken with teams about it. The requests were outrageous, but I believe they will try to retool a lot, and employing those folks to collect components may be one method to do it.”

That is a significant revelation about where the Toronto Blue Jays stand over two months before the MLB trade deadline and where they see their season going, as they have already had preliminary discussions about trading a pair of players who were viewed as building blocks for their team entering the 2024 season.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has three All-Star appearances, while Bo Bichette has two. Both players were all-stars in 2023.
