Plus, reactions from official visitors over the weekend.
We’re in the thick of official visit season, and another group of 2025 prospects came through Ann Arbor this weekend.

In today’s Recruiting Roundup, we’ll look at a few reactions from recruits that formally visited Michigan this weekend, but before…

Former ND commit announces official visit date to U-M

Shaun Terry, a 2025 three-star wide receiver who had previously committed to Notre Dame, has scheduled an official visit to Michigan for the next weekend.

The 5-foot-10, 170-pounder from Ironton, Ohio made a verbal commitment to the Fighting Irish in February but backed out on June 1. Notre Dame has a “no visit” policy for all committed recruits, and Terry plainly intended to make additional visits.

Terry recently returned from an official visit to Missouri, and the Tigers appear to be Michigan’s biggest challenge right now. No additional visits have been arranged, but he does have offers from USC, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Auburn, Oregon, Penn State, Oklahoma, Michigan State, and others – a very impressive offer list for the No. 652 overall player in his class.

The Wolverines are aiming to add a couple wide outs this cycle, particularly those who are bigger than the existing squad. Terry does not necessarily match that model, but Ron Bellamy and his team are certainly interested in him and have swiftly scheduled an official visit with him. We’ll see how things go after his vacation.

Top-100 OL discusses official visit to U-M

SJ Alofaituli, a highly rated 2025 four-star offensive lineman, was among several official visitors to Ann Arbor this past weekend. Speaking with On3’s Zach Libby ($), Alofaituli described his visit, which included spending a lot of time with offensive line coach Grant Newsome.

“Coach Newsome was excellent. “A fantastic coach,” Alofaituli added. “We had wonderful conversations throughout the visit. He just showed me where I might fit in at Michigan. What I could do to affect Michigan. It was delicious, though. We always talked during our visit. Good person. “I appreciate everything he does.”

Overall, Michigan has a lot to offer an offensive lineman like Alofaituli, who is ranked 77th overall in his class. However, he believes it has a lot to offer prospects in general.

“Michigan has it all, from the weight room to nutrition, academics, NIL, and all of that. It’s all fine,” he said. “But, for me, the campus was the most memorable aspect. It was really huge. It had a very Hogwarts-like appearance. Like an episode of Harry Potter. But simply knowing that you learn, the appearance of the classrooms, the lecture halls, and everything else got me excited to go to class at Michigan one day.”

Alofaituli’s next formal travels will be to Nebraska and Miami. Before traveling to Michigan, he paid an official visit to Texas A&M. However, his stay in Ann Arbor will most likely provide him with something to consider when it comes time to make a selection.

“Michigan is definitely up there,” Alofaituli stated. “They are the standard. National champions. They’re doing the task. On and off the field. “I’d say they’re really up there for me.”

At 6-foot-3, 290 pounds, Alofaituli is projected to play on the inside of the offensive line in college, specifically as a center.

Four-star edge recaps official visit last weekend

Julius Holly, a 2025 four-star prospect from Georgia, received his offer from the Michigan Wolverines on May 20. However, he was fast to organize an official visit to Ann Arbor, which he made last weekend.

Holly discussed his official visit with The Michigan Insider’s Brice Marich ($).

“(The highlights to me about my official visit) I believe it was just the time I was able to spend with the coaches and players and getting to know how they operate out there in Michigan,” Holly stated. “We went bowling the first night of the visit, and it was just a really great time being able to mess around with the coaches and players and getting a grasp of what it would be like to be in the Michigan environment.”

Lou Esposito, the Wolverines’ new defensive line coach, has been a force on the recruiting trail in his brief tenure, and he appears to have made a huge impression on Holly this weekend.

“Since meeting coach Lou, he’s been great peoples,” Holly stated. “Really friendly and I can see that him and the rest of the Michigan staff are very development on a personal level.”

This was Holly’s first formal trip of the summer. Official visits to Georgia begin this weekend, followed by Ole Miss and Texas A&M. He also plans to visit Alabama at some time after receiving an offer last week. With those additional trips coming soon, Holly confessed it’s difficult to determine where Michigan ranks on his top list of colleges, even though it remains “a top team in my eyes.”

Holly is ranked No. 22 along the edge, No. 38 in Georgia, and No. 300 overall in his class by 247Sports’ aggregate.
