Alfred now says he will reveal the decision on August 2.

Four-star wide receiver Dillon Alfred has slammed the brakes on a Monday afternoon announcement on where he will play college football.

Alfred had narrowed it down to Ole Miss and Clemson, and he spent the final few days traveling to see both teams.

On Monday, Alfred tweeted: “Over the last weekend (I) visited two great destinations, each distinct and special in their own way. I first considered making my commitment decision today. However, after further consideration, I am deferring my statement until August 2nd.”

Originally scheduled to make his decision public today, Alfred cited the need for more time to consider his options as the primary reason for the postponement. The talented quarterback, who has garnered offers from numerous top-tier programs, including Alabama, Ohio State, and Clemson, stated that this decision was one of the most significant of his life and deserved careful consideration.
