Ole Miss football is just 16 days away from starting its 2024 season….
Ole Miss football entered fall camp with a better quarterback room than most other programs in the NCAA. Not only is there an abundance of arm talent on the unit, but the Rebels have had their unquestioned starter behind center since he announced his return for his ‘Last Dance’ season.
Senior quarterback Jaxson Dart is in his third season as Ole Miss’ starter and is already a top-five Heisman Trophy candidate. This is only the second offseason in Lane Kiffin’s tenure without a starting quarterback dispute.
That being said, since Dart announced his return, all eyes have been on the highly competitive backup quarterback position. Previous 2023 transfer Spencer Sanders was Dart’s backup throughout his final collegiate season, leaving a large void for either sophomore Walker Howard or redshirt freshman Austin Simmons to fill this season. The two have been battling since spring and are only three weeks into fall camp.
