The Los Angeles Dodgers are unexpectedly tied 1-1 with the San Diego Padres. The third game of the National League Division Series will be played on Tuesday night in San Diego. The Dodgers won Game 1 on Saturday, but the Padres stormed back with a 10-2 victory in Game 2. One source of concern for the Dodgers is Mookie Betts, who has struggled to get anything going offensively thus far. Betts went 0-for-4 on Sunday and is now hitless in his past 22 postseason at-bats. Betts walked three times and scored a run on Saturday, but he has yet to hit a ball.

According to Bill Plunkett of The Prange County Register, Betts had an open discussion about his recent struggles following the Game 2 loss. “They’re all outs,” Betts said of his at-bat performance. “So they are all bad. I’m not sure what to say about it. I am giving and doing my best. “Obviously, it isn’t good enough right now.”

Betts had a productive season, hitting.289 with 19 home runs and 75 RBI in only 116 games. However, Betts went hitless in the Dodgers’ three-game postseason loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2023.

Betts played four games in the 2022 postseason, hitting.143. So, Betts’ performance in October has been problematic, and it has not improved as the 2024 postseason begins. The Dodgers had just five hits in Game 2, with Max Muncy accounting for two of them. Mookie Betts’ postseason problems continue to annoy him, and he will attempt to break the trend in Game 3.
