As the Navy Midshipmen coach prepares for a big game against the Notre Dame football squad, he sees no weaknesses.

Notre Dame football faces a difficult challenge this week. It could be one of the toughest games of the season. Or it should be.

The Irish will face the Navy Midshipmen, who enter the weekend undefeated, ranked in the Top 25, and competing for a playoff position as the G5’s representative. If all of this has made the service academy a little overconfident, head coach Brian Newberry isn’t showing it.

Newberry discussed his upcoming matchup against the Notre Dame football squad earlier this week. And it turns out he had some quite positive things to say about the Irish. One of them was that they don’t have any weaknesses and are like an NFL squad at the college level.

Notre Dame football opponent has a ton of respect for Fighting Irish

“Notre Dame. You know, this is Notre Dame. You know, they resemble an NFL team. They’re incredibly talented. Marcus Freeman and his colleagues earned a lot of respect there. They’re not only talented, but also exceptionally well-coached.

“They play hard.” They are basically sound. You know, their actions on both sides of the football field are troublesome. And, listen, we know we’ll have to be at our absolute best in all three phases and all four quarters just to have a chance. And we’re thrilled about the opportunity. Obviously a great challenge, and I’m looking forward to it.”

Navy comes in as the great underdog, but the truth is that they are the only undefeated team in the contest. Notre Dame football needs to keep on its toes and prepare for a rock fight on Saturday morning.
