Peter Bourque, a 2027 Massachusetts quarterback, will return to Notre Dame for a spring practice on March 21st. “I just love Notre Dame,” Bourque says. “I love everything about the place. I’ve always been a fan of Notre Dame; great school and great football.” Bourque camped at Notre Dame last summer and will be looking forward to seeing more when he returns later this year.

“I just want to see how a practice runs,” the Tabor Academy standout says. “I’d like to watch the boys in action. I haven’t seen that in real life yet. I’ve only watched it on television. I want to see how a meeting works. I do not know. “I just want to learn a little more.”

The 6-foot-4, 190-pounder has been in constant contact with the Irish, coordinating the visit and getting to know them better. He already has a fantastic rapport with quarterbacks coach Gino Guidugli.

“I love him,” Bourque confesses. “He’s a great coach and a great person as well.”

Notre Dame has yet to offer any 2027 quarterbacks, but Bourque has been a top focus for the Irish for about a year.

“It’s awesome,” says Bourque. “Notre Dame is also a priority for me. If I ever get that…it’s definitely one of my top schools.”

Bourque currently has offers from Penn State, Texas A&M, Rutgers, Illinois, North Carolina, and Ole Miss, among others. He plans to visit most of those schools soon.

“We’re figuring it out a little bit,” he tells me. “I believe we are going to Rutgers in March. We’re going to find time to visit Ole Miss. We’re heading to North Carolina. Illinois, Texas A&M.

“We’re still putting it together, but those are schools we’re trying to get to; mostly the big offers that we’re trying to get out to.”

The only school not yet on the itinerary is Penn State, and that’s only because he was in Happy Valley last month.

“It was good,” he says about the visit. “I like Penn State as well.”

Bourque does not have a set deadline for narrowing down his list or making a final decision.

“Not just now. I truly don’t have a plan. I don’t think I’ll rush things, but I’ll definitely have a few colleges in mind by the summer.”
