The Green Bay Packers have only made two moves this offseason. Brian Gutekunst has remained patient, rather than taking the aggressive approach that many expected. So far, the Packers have signed Aaron Banks, a former San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman, and Nate Hobbs, a former Las Vegas Raiders cornerback.

With these two moves, Green Bay was able to address two big needs. However, there was one position that the Packers were largely expected to target. Jordan Love could need some help at wide receiver. While Green Bay has yet to make a move at the position, there are still a few intriguing prospects on the free agent market.

Stefon Diggs might be one of the alternatives. Diggs is coming off of a ruptured ACL sustained after only seven games with the Houston Texans. He has been a true standout for most of his NFL career and might be the missing element in the Packers’ offense.

In seven games with the Texans in 2024, Diggs caught 47 catches for 496 yards and three touchdowns. He was on track for another successful year. Green Bay’s interest in wide receivers would be heavily influenced by the expense of acquiring them. The Packers reportedly wanted to acquire Cooper Kupp, but he signed a three-year, $45 million contract with the Seattle Seahawks, averaging $15 million per year.

What kind of contract might Diggs be worth? Spotrac now estimates his market value at $13.7 million per season.

If that is the estimated price, and Diggs is ready to come down significantly to play a key part on a championship contender, Green Bay could be a team to watch. Diggs would give Love a seasoned veteran wideout who might be a playmaker in Matt LaFleur’s playbook. From the outside, the fit appears to be mutually beneficial. However, no reports have connected the two parties. It will be fascinating to see if the Packers take an interest in Diggs.
