Despite their strong start to the season, the Los Angeles Dodgers still have some holes in their lineup. Early in the season, players like Michael Conforto, Kiké Hernandez, Max Muncy, and Andy Pages are all having trouble.
As a result, the Dodgers might be a little more eager to add extra players early in the season as opposed to waiting until June or July. Every season, the Dodgers acquire new players, mainly through trades.
According to a recent USA Today article by Bob Nightengale, the Dodgers and the Chicago White Sox have talked about trading for outfielder Luis Robert Jr. this season. Robert’s deal includes $20 million club options in 2026 and 2027.
“The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago White Sox have discussed a trade that would send center fielder Luis Robert Jr. to the Dodgers for Triple- “A front-line prospect and outfielder James Outman,” Nightengale noted.
The Dodgers’ outfield would be ideal for Robert. Los Angeles would have an extra righty to play every day thanks to the right-handed slugger.
The 27-year-old Robert has had a difficult start to the season. The star is slashing in 13 games. One home run and one double, 178/.269/.267. He is on track to reach a career best this year, though, as he has already stolen six bases this early in the season.
Is Dalton Rushing, the top prospect, the “front-line prospect”? Is it Zyhir Hope, the breakout star? Time will tell.

The Dodgers have been connected to this transaction for nearly a year. Robert is in dire need of some fresh air. His career might be revived by joining the Dodgers’ lineup, which would also provide them with a potential outfield star.
