In 2025, Hugh Freeze and the Auburn Tigers intend to regain their place in the College Football Playoffs. Although they have a lot of work ahead of them, they have brought in a lot of talented players from the previous season.

Jackson Arnold, a quarterback, was one of the major offseason recruits. If he performs to his full ability, his presence alone might help the Tigers advance far. Nevertheless, Auburn got some negative transfer portal news on Monday. Cornerback JC Hart has made the decision to use the portal, according to a report by Pete Nakos of On3 Sports.

Hart has a lot of potential for the future even if he didn’t play much in his 2024 rookie season. In his short playing time during the 2024 collegiate football season, Hart collected five total tackles. He only participated in two games.

From Auburn, Alabama, Hart was a three-star recruit when he first committed to the Tigers. According to 247 Sports, he was the 701st player in the country and the 71st cornerback in the 2023 recruiting class. In Alabama, Hart was placed No. 30 as well.

With a height of 6′ 2″ and a weight of 175 pounds, Hart is an excellent size and athlete for a cornerback. The transfer portal should make it easy for him to find a new residence. Terrance Love, Auburn’s safety, was also lost to the portal earlier on Monday. Over the previous two seasons, he has participated in 22 games for the Tigers.
