At the McDonald’s All-American game at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, on April 1st, Nate Ament, the top uncommitted talent in the class of 2025, was scheduled to make his commitment. After that, the five-star prospect delayed his commitment. The premier recruit’s recruitment process has been somewhat turbulent, and for the majority of his collegiate career, the Duke basketball program has been at the forefront of the competition for his services.

However, a decision has not yet been taken.

Five-star Duke signee Cameron Boozer has to ask Ament the uncomfortable questions regarding the direction of the process as pressure mounts for him to reveal where he will play next season.

Boozer questioned Ament how his recruiting with Duke is progressing during their conversation at this weekend’s Nike Hoop Summit. Ament had nothing to say.

“So I just kind of want to know, like, how’s your recruitment process going with that school [Duke]?” Boozer inquired.

“It’s going good.” Ament’s response was limited to that.

With remarks on his postings during official school visits, Cameron Boozer and his twin brother Cayden, who is also a Duke signee, have been attempting to entice Ament to attend Duke for some time. When he uploaded photos of himself wearing a Duke uniform, he received positive feedback; when he was at the other universities, he received less favorable feedback.

In addition, he spoke with NBA analyst Krysten Peek about the last five universities he will consider: Duke, Louisville, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Arkansas. Peek inquired about the criteria that might influence Ament’s ultimate choice.

“How I feel, how much I trust the coaches and what they’re telling me,” said Ament. How much I genuinely think I can make an impact as a freshman. Additionally, I can clearly enter the game, make mistakes, and grow from them. Additionally, the coach has faith in me to make such modifications during the game.

Ament also shared some information about when he plans to make his collegiate basketball playing location decision.

“Next week or two,” indicated Ament.

Ament, who is ranked #1 by 247sports, is the fourth overall prospect in the class of 2025 and may be a significant addition to Duke’s already strong recruiting class.
