During the 2024–25 season, the Duke Blue Devils and head coach Jon Scheyer advanced to the Final Four but failed to win a national championship. Cooper Flagg is anticipated to be the first overall choice in the 2025 NBA draft going into the offseason. The choice to enter the draft has already been made by Kon Knueppel.

It will be difficult for Duke to replace both of those players. However, the NCAA transfer portal now links them to a very interesting athlete. Award-winning columnist Dick Weiss claims that the Blue Devils are one of the teams interested in California transfer guard Andrej Stojakovic. Weiss also included the Illinois Fighting Illini and Auburn Tigers as additional teams to keep an eye on.

For Duke, Stojakovic would be a huge addition. After high school, the Blue Devils showed interest in him, but he declined their offer.

Stojakovic participated in 29 games during the 2024–25 California collegiate basketball season, starting 28 of them. He averaged 17.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game. He also made 31.8% of his 3-point attempts and 42.7% of his field goals.

Why his name seems familiar may be a mystery to many. The former NBA player Peja Stojakovic is the father of Stojakovic.

Stojakovic was a four-star prospect and the fourth-ranked small forward in the US in the 2023 recruiting class. In addition, he was the third-ranked player out of California and the 19th-ranked player in the country overall.

In order to continue winning at a high level in the 2025–2026 season, Duke might have another chance to sign him this offseason.
