One of the greatest debates in college basketball since the season finished about two weeks ago has been centered around Duke Blue Devils rookie star Cooper Flagg and when he’ll make his choice regarding the upcoming NBA Draft in June.

Flagg just told SportsCenter that he hasn’t made up his mind yet and intends to take some time to consider his options and decide on the best course of action for himself, even if his teammate Kon Knueppel has already made his decision.

Duke’s most recent post, which showed Flagg at a team exercise on Friday, generated some buzz and even criticism, which fueled speculation about his future, even though it is still expected that he will eventually declare—given that he is the consensus No. 1 overall choice.

Duke supporters responded to the message almost away, with many calling for Flagg to return and spend another season in Durham, North Carolina.

“Jumping into year 2!!” “A fan said.”

Another admirer said, “OMG, you can’t post that right now unless it’s to say he’s coming back.”

“Omg you cannot post that right now unless it’s to say he’s coming back,” Another person added.
One more fan remarked, “Do not do this to us please.”

Even though Duke supporters are naturally interested in anything involving Flagg, many of them immediately picked up on one specific detail in the picture: he was sporting New Balance sneakers, which is the brand he is anticipated to sign with once he joins the NBA.

The footwear choice was particularly noteworthy because he was not allowed to wear New Balance at Duke due to the program’s sponsorship agreement with Nike.

Flagg has already established himself as one of the greatest freshman in Duke history, regardless of his final choice. Along with leading the Blue Devils to the Final Four and narrowly missing out on a national championship appearance during a wild final few minutes in a semifinal loss to Houston, he was named National Player of the Year by a number of prominent media sources.
