A talented player who averaged almost 20 points and 10 rebounds per game as a true freshman was acquired by Auburn by reaching into the DII rankings.
ESPN’s Jeff Borzello reported that Elyjah Freeman, a student at Tennessee’s Lincoln Memorial University, had committed to playing for the Tigers.
Out of the class of 2024, Freeman, a McDonald’s All-American Team nominee and graduate of Wellington High School in Florida, signed with Lincoln Memorial. He made an early impression, averaging 19.3 points and 9.1 rebounds per game in 28 games (25 of which he started). In addition, Freeman shot 46.3 percent from three-point range and finished 25th in the nation’s qualifying players in terms of field goal percentage (58.6 percent).
At the end of the season, he decided to continue his college career in the SEC with Auburn after using the transfer portal. Naturally, the Tigers are coming off of their second Final Four appearance in program history.
Four players have now committed to Auburn through the transfer site. It added Kevin Overton (Texas Tech) on Friday and Keyshawn Hall (UCF) on April 2 in addition to signing KeShawn Murphy (Mississippi State) on Tuesday. Additionally, Emeka Opurum was recruited from the JUCO.

According to 247Sports, Auburn had the ninth-best transfer class in the nation going into Saturday.
