The Auburn Tigers are working to bolster their 2024–25 squad with hopes of competing for a national championship as well as making it back to the NCAA Tournament Final Four.

The Tigers have continued to get attention following a season that concluded in San Antonio with a defeat to conference rival Florida.

Among the most active programs on the NCAA transfer portal is Auburn.

Bruce Pearl is anticipated to start five new players when the 2025–26 season starts, as has been widely reported. Not long ago, he added another name to his expanding list of possibilities.

Freeman formally committed to Auburn on Saturday after logging into the transfer portal on March 17. Freeman has a four-star rating on the platform, per On3 Sports.

A 6-foot-8 guard/forward who played at Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee, the previous season, is joining Pearl.

In January, he won NABC Division II Player of the Week and was named the South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week.

Freeman averaged 18.9 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game throughout the season. He also had a 58.7% field goal percentage.

Pearl responded, “Elyjah Freeman is your classic late bloomer,” when questioned about Freeman. “He attends Lincoln Memorial, performs exceptionally well, and was under-recruited out of high school. As a freshman, Elyjah was among the top offensive players in Division II basketball and a really motivated, hard-working individual.
