Under head coach Bruce Pearl, Auburn won the SEC regular-season championship, ended 32-6 (15-3 SEC), and came in fourth in the final AP Poll.
With an average of 83 points per game and an eighth-best plus-13.5 scoring differential, the Tigers finished 13th in the country in terms of scoring.
The team earned the top overall NCAA seed, advanced to the Final Four after defeating Alabama State, Creighton, Michigan, and Michigan State, and then lost to Florida 79-73 in the semifinals.
Miles Kelly, their senior guard, was largely responsible for their success the previous season.
Auburn honored Kelly on X on Saturday by sharing a montage video with the message, “Gonna miss this sharp shoota 👌🔥.”
Before committing to Georgia Tech as a four-star recruit, Kelly excelled at Hargrave Military Academy and Parkview High School (Lilburn, Georgia), according to 247Sports.
He played in 95 games (60 starts) throughout his three seasons with the Yellow Jackets, averaged 13.9 points and 5.5 rebounds as a junior, was named to the All-ACC honor roll, and scored 1,000 points in his career.
Kelly transferred to Auburn for 2024-25, bringing outstanding 3-point shooting and experienced knowledge to Bruce Pearl’s lineup.
In 2024-25, Kelly averaged 11.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game, shooting 40.6% from the field.
Including a nine-trey, 30-point outburst versus Kentucky on March 1, he led the Tigers in 3-pointers made (88) at a 37.8% percentage.
Now that seniors Denver Jones, Kelly, and Johni Broome are no longer eligible, Auburn must completely rebuild its roster.
With today’s closing montage, one of the most successful veteran-led campaigns in program history comes to a conclusion.
