On Tuesday, Oregon State added another foreign player to its women’s basketball team, signing Spanish wing Cloe Vecina.

Vecina joins Corvallis from Celta Baloncesto Femenino, where she played three games for Celta Zorka in the Spanish senior division. She enrolls as a freshman.

“We are excited that Cloe Vecina chose to be a Beaver,” Oregon State head coach Scott Rueck remarked. “She is a versatile combo guard who can play on and off the ball. Cloe has excellent court vision and is a skilled offensive player with a great shot. We are happy that she chose to visit Corvallis.”

“I chose Oregon State University because of its academic reputation and strong basketball team, which I am confident would help me achieve my goals. “And, most importantly, the incredible family atmosphere,” Vecina remarked.

Vecina was recently selected by the Spanish U18 national team to begin training for the 2024 EuroBasket, which will take place this summer. She is one of the final contestants vying for a berth on the roster.

Vecina is OSU’s second Spanish signee this offseason, joining Florida State transfer Lucia Navarro. She is the Beavers’ fourth foreign signee and sixth on the roster, joining Susana Yepes and Kelsey Rees.
